Seems like the playbook is being activated.. cyberattacks galore and hybrid warfare on full display. Dr. Brian Taylor’s belief is that this Ukraine situation backfired for Putin. Now if Putin is vengeful towards the US, the premise for this attack might be that Putin sees this as an opportunity to embarrass liberalism/democracy on the global stage. Post Afghanistan pull out and crimea annexed in 2014 under Obama and territorial infringements and invasion of Ukraine —a democratic state—will occur under the Biden administration. Definitely can be used to show American liberalism as weak and a Republican administration assuming office in 2024, which benefits Russia.
